Communicating through announcements can improve engagement, help save time and keep you connected with the users of your program.

We also have a cool new feature that makes setting up a program even easier!

Announcements: A Time Saver

While managing your program, you're likely familiar with creating new conversations from your Program Dashboard. These messages become an ongoing thread sent to all members in the conversation, and each member can reply in this thread - which is great for group discussions!

But - as we all know - a message thread can become overwhelming especially if you just want to send tips, reminders, or share a general message.

That’s where announcements come in!

Announcements allow you to send read-only messages to a group of users. You can use this feature to keep your members engaged in the program, offer mentorship tips or session-conversation prompts, and even send attachments.

The announcement feature saves you a great amount of time from doing the work manually. Even better, you can curate the list of recipients by specific group, cohort, tags and even status!

Here's how to send an announcement:

1. Go to your Messaging tab from the Program Dashboard and click on the paper and pencil icon.

2. Click on New Announcement

3. You can either choose to individually enter each member's name in the 'To:' field, or filter and bulk-select from the Members tab

4. OR from the Members tab, you're able to sort and combine filters by each mentor/mentee, cohorts, tags, status, and more - talk about a time saver!

Good to know: By selecting a new announcement, if a member chooses to reply, their message will only be sent to and seen by you, the program manager.

Setting Up Your Sector/Industries

When setting up your mentorship program, Mentorly’s aim is to make those steps a breeze. Our new Sector/Industries feature lets you customize the list of sectors or industries, and areas of expertise to best represent your program's membership.

This list is important when mentees or mentors are completing their profiles - as they choose from this list to best reflect their experience

From the Program tab, sectors/industries can be added or edited, and areas of expertise can be added to each discipline.

Good to know: We strongly don’t recommend modifying the list once a program/members have already onboarded. As this affects onboarded users.
